Biskupski dvor
The Bishop's Palace is the seat of the Archdiocese of Đakovo-Osijek. Also known as the archbishop's residence, it is in fact a palace built in the 18th century in the late Baroque style. Part of the western defensive wall survives from the original 14th-century Gothic structure, and part of the old, earlier cathedral is preserved within the Chapel of St Joseph. Inside, the palace has grand reception rooms decorated with portraits of bishops and other valuable works of art.
Bishops of the Diocese of Bosnia, or Đakovo, have resided here since 1239, those of the Diocese of Srijem as well since 1773, and since 2008 the metropolitan archbishops of Đakovo-Osijek. It also houses the diocese's main institutions and offices.
